Hypermiling is a new technique for driving which can see your average mpg soar

The technique takes advantage of the road and other traffic around a vehicle. For example when a vehicle passes you there is the usual push and pull of air around your vehicle. The road sometimes has small ridges from continuous traffic; driving out of the ridge especially in wet weather can increase your mpg. Extreme techniques such as slipstreaming behind lorries and other vehicles are not recommended. It is said that you do need to concentrate much more when hypermiling.
