Police probe 999 crash death - Thursday 13 November 2008
A man, in his 50s or 60s, was killed by a marked patrol car
He was declared dead at the scene on the A244 in Surrey. Residents said the police Ford Mondeo was "a write off" following the collision which appeared to have knocked the man over its roof. The officer was responding to a burglary call in Claygate where intruders were reported to be still on the premises. Details of the man's identity have not yet been released.
