A ranger has been appointed to patrol the 100 miles of canal towpaths in London

The post was created after 10 incidents this year of cyclists colliding with pedestrians. He will be there to remind cyclists that the paths are a shared resource for everyone and that they shouldn't be hurtling down them at top speed. He will also check the paths for wear and tear and ensure repairs have been carried out.
