Boy racers slow down - Friday 15 August 2008
A leading Police chief has urged boy racers to slow down and be more responsible on public roads
Chief Inspector Mark Harrison has called for boy racers on the seafront of Herne Bay to slow down and stop their anti-social behaviour. People come from all over the South East to the seafront to display their customized cars. The majority do so in a responsible manner but there is a minority that screech their tyres, rev engines with noisy exhausts, and play loud music making life a misery for local residents. He said "driving at high speed along the seafront is a danger to all those around, and we will not tolerate it.". Police check cars that come into the bay with cameras to ensure that they have insurance, tax and MOT.
