PC Dennis (a casualty reduction office in Humberside) described the man's driving as 'the worst he has seen during his time in the force'

The East Yorkshire motorist was caught on video driving along the A614 road between Bridlington and Market Weighton in his Mercedes van.

The video shows him overtaking 8 cars in one go, driving on the wrong side of the road, passing cars on blind bends, forcing fellow drivers to brake sharply, darting in and out of traffic and tailgating, whilst driving at speeds over 60mph.

At Hull Crown Court, the man narrowly avoided prison after pleading guilty to dangerous driving. He was sentenced to four months in jail, suspended for 12 months and was also banned from driving for 18 months, ordered to pay a £722 fine, given a 12-month community order and is under a 9pm to 6am curfew for four months.
