Disabled badges trebled since 1987 - Monday 16 June 2008
In 20 years the number of disabled badges issued by councils has trebled form 670,000 to 2.3 million.
The Department for Transport has guidelines on how the badges should be issued but councils seem to be ignoring them and issuing badges directly on the recommendations of GP's. The report also highlights the differing policies around the country in how councils approve applications. | | |
