Police USB stick lost - Friday 6 June 2008

A man in Stevenage found a USB memory stick in a gutter containing 330 megabytes of data from the automatic number plate recognition system

The memory stick wasn't encrypted and had over 165,000 pages of sensitive information on suspects' names, addresses and convictions. If the data had fallen in to the wrong hands criminals would be aware of police activities. The officer involved has been given words of advice.
