A Chinese power company has erected a 40ft pole – in the middle of a 6 lane highway

It seems mis-communication between the power companies and the road widening project meant that the power company put up the utility mast in the middle of the road. Even road signs and markings still direct drivers straight into the pole which has caused dozens of accidents with motorists driving straight into it. The power company is now reluctant to move the obstruction as it will cost too much to bury the cables under the road.

The results show an alarming gap. 45% couldn’t identify the No Motor Vehicles sign, 15% didn’t know what the national speed limit sign looked like and a worrying two thirds couldn’t identify a zebra crossing sign.
