Priests told to stop driving flashy cars

Pope Francis has said it pained him seeing priests driving flashy cars and they should be driving something more normal

The former cardinal Jorge Bergoglio of Argentina has said “A car is necessary to do a lot of work, but please, choose a more humble one. If you like the fancy one, just think about how many children are dying of hunger in the world.”

Pope Francis appears to be on a mission to make the Catholic Church more austere. Rather than living in the papal apartments he has chosen to live in a Vatican guest house.
