Ford have created a snorting 150mph 295bhp supervan
The desire to squash stupid engines into unsuitable vehicles continues with the third iteration of the Ford Supervan.
Driven by former Touring Car Championship Anthony Reid around Goodwood, the Cosworth turbocharged V6 van is “ludicrously loud, incredibly quick” and like “driving a gunpowder keg on top of a flag pole”.
Ironic that showcasing the Ford Transit comes at a time when a century of UK production of the famous all-purpose van comes to an end, with operations at Southampton and Dagenham moving to Turkey next week with a loss of over 1,000 UK jobs. Ford will focus UK’s role in powertrain and commercial vehicle engineering.
