Local Authority speed limit guidance

New guidance for local authorities has been released to better equip them in setting local speed limits

The guidance incorporates new legislation that allows greater flexibility in the setting of 20mph speed limits by local authorities and a suite of tools that will help authorities fully assess the likely impact of changing a speed limit.

The guidance is used for setting local speed limits on single and dual carriageway roads in urban and rural areas.
