Drivers unaware of speed limits
Research shows that 71% of drivers are unaware of speed limits
The research, conducted by ICM Research, showed photographs of various roads to motorists and asked them to identify the speed limit for the particular road. 52% could not identify the limit on a rural road with no street lights whilst 33% didn’t correctly identify the 60mph limit for a single carriageway.
Not knowing the correct speed limit for a particular road and driving too fast can lead to penalty points and a fine if caught by the Police.
