Council plans £3.2m bus lane that is 100 metres long

Worcester Council are planning to build a bus lane that is 100 metres long at a cost of £32,000 per metre

The plans have been criticised as a waste of taxpayers money. The council believe the lane will have a positive impact on the local area which is a bottleneck. Works include road widening and installing traffic signals. Campaigners are asking that the money be returned to the Government and put to better use.

Once again, government at local level, as at national level, seem to have lost sight of the fact that money spent is our money, not theirs, and should demonstrably show value for money. If they want to improve traffic flow just get rid of all unnecessary traffic signs, restrictions and signals.
