Brake slam new speed camera policy

Road safety charity, Brake, call coalition government’s policy not to fund new speed cameras as a “trip back to the dark ages”

The new UK transport minister Philip Hammond, has said the government will not fund any new speed camera installations in an attempt to end a 14 year battle against motorists. Brake has said that both motorists and communities approve of using technology to save lives and the governments’ decision was based on an ‘archaic political bias’.

Can someone slam Brake. They’re the ones taking transport policy back to the dark ages – they want speeds reduced to Edwardian era – man with a red flag in front your car. Fact speed cameras are there for a revenue raising – vendor sales blurb say so and council and cops can keep money from fines – safe easy way of making money – minimum effort maximum output, clobber the motorist with imitation safety policies.

I think that Speed cameras, are there for the money they make too. I have been snapped twice, and on the second occasion, I were offered the “Speed Awareness Course”, £105 and no points or normal £60 and 3 points on my licence. It never stopped me from speeding more, and I got fined for two speeds less than 45mph. They’re a con and a financial bonus for old fashioned political idiots!
