Careful on the roads on 19th December

A leading insurance company has compiled statistics that suggest the 19th December is the most dangerous day for motorists

The stats point to the 19th as the day that most car accidents and thefts occur with an increase of 40% in claims for thefts and crashes. Reasons could include people rushing around buying gifts and presents, poor visibility from improper windscreen demisting or luggage compartments full of purchases. ACOPO are aiming to increase their random breath tests during the festive season to lower the number of accidents from drink driving.

Now there is a fascinating piece of information that has really spoilt my day – the 19th December is the day that my wife and I have planned a four hundred mile round trip. We shall be going from the quiet and peaceful roads of South Lincolnshire, down the A1, to circumnavigate the horrors of the M25 visiting Hampton and Farnborough and return in the evening. Huh! now you tell us. <):-)
