When it comes to renewing car insurance, 1 in 5 drivers waste £140 by not shopping around
The figures come from a price comparison website, which says that 8% of the 1/5 drivers couldn’t be bothered to shop around for a better deal. Insurance companies get new customers with good deals in the first year which are generally not open to existing customers. Renewal prices after the first year could start to rise. Drivers in East Anglia and Northern Ireland are the least likely to shop around for a better deal.
